Just over five years after the passing of Nick Bell in 2010, Mississippi State’s football team is mourning the loss of one of its players. Many of the players began tweeting about the loss of Keith Joseph, Jr. around 9:00 on Friday night. Patrick Magee of Coast Coverage confirmed the death of Joseph and his father Keith Joseph, Sr.

Mississippi State has yet to release a formal statement about the loss of one of its players. And since they have yet to do so, we will not speculate on what may or may not have caused such a terrible tragedy. Instead, we have chosen to share the tweets of the players to tell the story and grief they are experiencing. Rest in peace to Keith Jospeh Junior and Senior.

There were many other tweets sent out by the players. It is truly a difficult time for the enitre Mississippi State family.

Joseph was from Pascagoula. He was redshirting this season and would have had four years of eligibility left after the 2015 season.

UPDATE:

WBRC Fox 6 has confirmed that Joseph and his father were killed in a car accident. We will add to this as we hear more details.

UPDATE:

Mississippi State has confirmed the terrible news. Please say a prayer for the Joseph family.
