Brandon Holloway
I put Brandon Holloway on here, but not for the reason you think. The coaches have tried to get him more touches in the running game, and it has produced mixed results at best.
But the one thing he has shown he can do is help on running back screens. The running game looks as if it will never get going to its full potential in 2015, so in its place needs to be more running back screens. And Holloway is the best choice for this role.
Holloway had his best game of the season against the Kentucky Wildcats, and in my opinion, the reason he performed so well is because it was the first time Mississippi State used him in the best manner possible.
Holloway had a solid game running the ball with 6 carries for 36 yards. But he really demonstrated his worth in the passing game as Holloway had 5 receptions for 98 yards. That’s 11 touches for 134 yards.
Holloway will only be best served in the running game as a change of pace back. But what he lacks in the running game department, he can easily make up for in screen plays out of the backfield. He has speed to burn, so Mississippi State needs to find ways to use it.
