Kevin Sumlin’s Costune is Kim Kardashian

Once again, I know. I went with a girl for a guy coach. But once again, this is the obvious choice for Kevin Sumlin. Let me explain.

Kim Kardashian is a famous person. Notice I didn’t say movie star, actor, or singer. She hasn’t really done anything except be the daughter of one the lawyers for O.J. Simpson and the step daughter of Bruce Jenner, now Caitlyn Jenner. Because of whom Kardashian is associated with, she has her own reality TV show and is now famous for being famous. There is lots of flash, but very little substance.

So what has Kevin Sumlin done since he arrived as the head coach of Texas A&M? Sure, he got of to a red hot start, but he had Johnny Manziel as his quarterback. It’s getting harder and harder to think Sumlin wasn’t simply the beneficiary of a once in a lifetime player to lead his team.

And if you want flash, Sumlin has lots of it. His recruiting visits are the stuff of legend. He can charm the daylights out of the highest rated quarterbacks in all the lands and all the 5 star players. But he just doesn’t seem to be able to do too much with them.

The natural fit for Kevin Sumlin is Kim Kardashian. He’ll make that dress look good.
