7. 1997 vs. Ole Miss

To set the mood, there was a huge brawl between the teams before the game started.

It was a tight game all the way through but the Bulldogs held a 14-7 lead with two minutes to play. Brian Hazelwood missed a 52 yard field goal and Ole Miss got the ball back. That’s when Stewart Patridge drove the Rebs 64 yards for what was assumed to be the tying score. But after scoring the TD Tommy Tubberville decided to go for the two-point conversion….and he got it.

#22, 7-4, Mississippi State missed a bowl game because of this while Ole Miss went to the Motor City Bowl.
