Offensive Most Valuable Player: Dak Prescott
I know, shocking huh? Mississippi State Quarterback Dak Prescott is the hands down choice for first half MVP. The one concern most people had about Mississippi State was the Bulldogs would not get a lot of support from anyone besides Dak Prescott.
They might be right about this. The struggles with the running game are very well documented. Part of that is the offensive line’s fault, the other part fall on the feet of the running backs, and some of the blame for the lack of a running game lies squarely on the coaches for not getting the players ready to play.

Despite the lack of production on the ground, Dak Prescott is still considered the best quarterback in the SEC by most who have watched the conference. There has been a slight dip in numbers, but most of that can be accounted for by the simple fact, that once again, he simply isn’t getting help from the running backs or offensive line.
Through the first six games, Prescott has thrown 8 touchdown passes to no interceptions. His streak of passes without an interception is one of the longest in college football. It’s been a really good year for the star quarterback.
Priority one starting this Saturday against Louisiana Tech has to be getting Dak Prescott some additional help. If it continues to be just the Dak Prescott show, don’t expect Mississippi State to finish with more than six or seven wins. If they can get some more production out of the offense besides Dak Prescott, eight or nine wins is very possible.
