Bulldogs will be fine at quarterback the next few years

Yes, I know Northwestern State is terrible, and you really can’t put too much on the performance by the redshirt freshmen, but it is still pretty impressive what Staley and Fitzgerald did.

Fitzgerald was the first of the backups to get on the field. Fitzgerald completed all four of his passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. He tacked on 28 yards on five carries as well.

Staley also played well. He completed 2 of 3 passes for 55 yards and a touchdown. His touchdown pass to Gray might have been the prettiest pass of the game.

So yes, the competition was terrible, but there should have been some mistakes made by the young guys. Neither did. They both looked like they were in complete control of the offense, and the offense continued to click just like Prescott was in the game.
