Publications have been doing their SEC Power Rankings now for about a month. I really didn’t understand the need to put out a set of Power Rankings before the season until we got just a little bit closer to the actual games.
So now that we have arrived at game week, it’s that time again. The first week of Power Rankings is always the most difficult. How do you stack people up? Do you go with your gut? Do you make it resemble another publication?
I decided to average the AP and Coaches Poll. For those that didn’t make the poll, I’ll include where they fell in the “Others Receiving Votes” category. For those who didn’t even get that, those are the teams I decided to just go with my gut.
For this first installment, I’ll include their first opponent and I’ll tell you how likely I think said team is to stay where they are ranked.
We’re getting closer guys. I know it seems like the time has been eternal between the 2014 season and the start of the 2015 season, but it is almost over. It won’t be too much longer. We’re actually in the calendar month now.
So take a look at my rankings and feel free to tell me how wrong I am after you read them. They will change drastically after the 1st week. It could be an interesting year, so these could fluctuate wildly from week to week.
Up first is the number 14 team in the rankings.
