Candidates to Replace Rick Ray as Mississippi State Head Coach

On Saturday, Mississippi State Athletic Director Scott Stricklin announced that Rick Ray would be fired, and the search for a new head coach would begin immediately. After a disappointing three seasons under the reign of Rick Ray, fans are impatient and look to another head coach to bring the Mississippi State Basketball program into national prominence, once again.

So what we are going to do is look at some coaching options that you the fans, and we the staff, have determined might just be strong possibilities. These coaches are in no particular order, and should not be taken as being in an order. First, let’s look at former UCLA Head Coach Ben Howland.
