Mississippi State Baseball Forecast: What is a Hilltopper?

facebooktwitterreddit

Well that was a disappointing set of events this past week. Dropping in the polls to No. 22 (D1 Baseball) is certainly a wake-up call for this team, at least it should be. Before we head into SEC play this weekend, we get a visit from the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The trip should be just in time to see the mental toughness of this squad. One thing that we may have to watch out for this week is a heavy band of rain coming through the area.

With these two days, it is entirely possible that we could have a doubleheader on Wednesday if the first game on Tuesday is rained out. Sadly, I believe that Tuesday’s game is a complete washout. The latest models are revealing a dramatic amount rain to fall between now and first pitch, even more to fall during the game. In my opinion, we won’t have any option but to issue a Doubleheader for Wednesday.

Since I believe this to be the case, I’ll go ahead and issue a forecast for the whole day of Wednesday. That way if we do end up scheduling the doubleheader, we will have a full forecast for that day.
