From all of us at Maroon and White Nation we would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a happy and prosperous New Year.  We hope it’s the best yet for you and your family. While we are in the midst of the holidays and we hope you get all you ever wished for, it’s never too early to start making that Bulldog wish list for 2015.

Let’s start filling that puppy out right now shall we?

Stocking Stuffers:

A Rick Ray turnaround:  The Mississippi State men’s basketball team has been up and down thus far in 2014, but here’s to a hopeful turnaround for Rick Ray and his bunch.  The rebuild has been tough and sometimes painful to watch, but there are still winnable games on the schedule and with persistence and consistency, this team could still have a winning season – thus moving Ray and his club in the right direction.

Women’s Basketball Dominance to Continue: Vic Shaefer’s club is off to a 14-0 start and number-19 ranking in the country, propelling the women’s team to uncharted waters.

Here’s to that continued success as they move into SEC play, with an opportunity to move on up those rankings and land a top spot in the NCAA Tournament field in 2015.

The Return of Dak: Nothing would be bigger than to dump that stocking and find Dak Prescott returning for his senior season at quarterback for the Bulldogs.  Prescott, who has yet to go public with his decision, is being tabbed as a late second to middle round NFL pick at this time.

His return would spring board Dan Mullen’s team heading into spring practice and the 2015 football season.

Florida Oranges: A win over Georgia Tech in the Orange Bowl next week would mean a ton for the Bulldogs on several levels.  One, it would give State an 11-win season and assure a top-ten finish in the polls.  Secondly, this would be continued momentum carried forward for a program that is still on the rise.

Under the Tree:

Finish Strong in Football Recruiting:  The Bulldogs currently sit at number-16 in the 247 recruiting rankings and have a fantastic crop of new players set to come on board.  The big key here is to not lose anyone down the stretch and potentially still grab two more guys that are left on the big board.  If the Bulldogs can do that, this will be arguably their most talented class ever.

Return to Omaha: The Bulldog baseball Dawgs are in the preseason top-25 and return a wealth of talent and youth for John Cohen to work with in 2015.  If the pitching staff comes together, this could be another special year on the baseball diamond and the Bulldogs could be eyeing their 10th trip to Omaha.

Eye Double Digit Football Wins Again: If everything works out with Prescott coming back and Mullen makes a good hire at defensive coordinator, the Bulldogs again have enough talent coming back to challenge for the West Title in 2015.  Key home games against LSU, Alabama, and Ole Miss are offset with road trips to Auburn, Texas A&M, Arkansas and Missouri.

As always, the SEC West is a beast to battle, but the Bulldogs have proven they are a major player in the countries best division and here’s to another great year in 2015.

Return the Egg and Thanks: It’s never easy to lose the Egg Bowl, but this coming year the game is back in Starkville, where the Bulldogs haven’t lost to the Rebels since 2003.  You should rest comfortably as this gift will almost assuredly be under your tree.

Prescott to New York: If Prescott returns, most of these gifts should come true for you in 2015 and if he can have comparable numbers next year, to this past year, he should be a shoe –in for a trip to New York and the Heisman Trophy presentation.

I’m sure you have many more gifts on your 2015 wish list so fill free to add them in the comments section.  Here’s to a happy holiday season and hoping you get everything you could ever want in Maroon in 2015.
