6. Will Ole Miss Crumble Like MSU did in 2012?

In 2012 Mississippi State was 7-0 only to drop four of the last five games and end the regular season 8-4. Then a loss in the Gator Bowl made it 8-5 and a bitter taste in everyone’s mouth after a great start.

This year Ole Miss started their schedule 7-0 before dropping back-to-back games. They’ve since beat FCS Presbyterian for an 8-2 record. With a road game against Arkansas and home for the Egg Bowl against 9-1 MSU, could they be in jeopardy of repeating the feat of their in-state rival?

There’s no question this Ole Miss team is much better than the ’12 MSU team, but they probably stand the same chance of it happening. It’s probably unlikely, however, as it’s still possible for the Rebels to win the SEC West with a win in their final two games and an Auburn win in the Iron Bowl.
