The 4-team College Football Playoff has added a new dimension to the 2014 season. Now twice as many teams will be able to directly play for the national championship after the regular season has ended. The SEC, and Mississippi State, is right in the thick of the race. In the first rankings released by the committee this week, MSU was #1 and three of the top four were from the SEC (West). Four of the top six and five of the top 11 were for the SEC.
I still believe there will be two SEC teams make the CFB Playoffs, as I said last week. Between MSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Alabama and Georgia there is just too much strength to leave four of them out. I know a lot of them will face off in November but the way I see it, it’s double-elimination for the College Football Playoffs, and I’d imagine one or more of those five will have three losses by the end of the month….leaving at least two win one loss or none.
So that brings me to this handy, by hand, bracket I made up to navigate the month of November in the SEC. It includes all the biggest games, and some other road tests that might prove difficult.
Mississippi State is the leader right now since they’re undefeated, but certainly the other four teams have a great shot as well. And good news, there’s an elimination game here in Week one of this bracket so we’ll be making some
strike-troughs
right away!
This should be a really fun month will so many games having such big implications! I’ll update this post every Saturday morning from here on out. Hail State.
