Our sister site on the FanSided network, Gig Em Gazette, answered some questions about the Aggies for us…

1. Texas A&M’s scoring defense has gone from 96th last year to 13th so far this year. What do you attribute the improvement to?

"Our depth . We’re able to stay in the game for all four quarters and as the game goes on our defense gets better, usually after halftime. We have only allowed 3 points this entire season in opponent 4th quarter points and left South Carolina scoreless in the fourth and Arkansas scoreless in the fourth/OT."

2. The Aggies’ D is one of the best in the country in sacks and tackles for loss. Who do we need to watch out for on that defensive front?

"Keep an eye on freshman Myles Garett who has a total of 5.5 sacks, 0 in the last two games which is concerning. The record for total sacks in a freshman season in the SEC is 8 held by Jadeveon Clowney and Myles has a strong chance of breaking that record."

3. Are A&M’s biggest offensive passing plays when they get receivers in space for short to intermediate routes or when trying to hit the deep pass?

"I’d have to say the short to intermediate routes. Kenny Hill isn’t a great deep passer as he tends to over throw it a lot and gets most of his passes completed from a shorter distance and letting the receiver run for the extra yards and it’s worked well."

4. What is an area of weakness/room for improvement on A&M’s team?

"Not being able to stop the opponents offense early in the game. Like I mentioned we’re able to adjust late in the game which can cause problems if the opponent has a blowout first half which is yet to happen yet. We can also improve defensively on the rushing game and Arkansas proved that to us. We allowed 6.1 rushing yards per attempt and 3 rushing touchdowns against Arkansas which is an obvious point that we need to be able to stop the rushing game."

5. Is there a part of Mississippi State’s team that concerns you heading into the game?

"Not being to stole the offense. Mississippi State has proven the offense can be hard to stop in the rushing game and in the passing game. 46th in passing yards and 15th in rushing yards is good numbers seeing as use are able to use both parts effectively. I think we will learn from the Arkansas game and slightly improve in stopping the rushing game for the most part. I’m also concerned that our defensive backs will allow a lot of passing yards from Prescott and use being able to beat us that way."
