Since this is a Mississippi State site, I know many of you probably came here to see how the mammoth upset of LSU affected my Power Rankings. You will probably like what you see. If you want to know what it was like last week, here they are.

  1. Texas A&M 4-0 (Last Week 1): They hold on to the top spot with ease. A possible match up of undefeated teams in Starkville the first week of October looms should they beat the Razorbacks.
  2. Alabama 4-0 (Last Week 2): Came real close to moving them down, but I decided against it. Turnovers might cost the Tide if they don’t get it fixed.
  3. Mississippi State 4-0 (Last Week 5): Yes, I moved the Bulldogs to the top 3. You could easily argue they have the best win of any team in the SEC as well.
  4. Auburn 3-0 (Last Week 4): If that game had been at home, they might have gotten moved down. That was just ugly.
  5. Ole Miss 4-0 (Last Week 6): Ole Miss should handle Memphis, but Memphis is far better than they have been in years. If they start counting their Gameday eggs before they hatch, they could get upset. I don’t expect it, but a lot of people didn’t expect us to win in Baton Rouge.
  6. LSU 3-1 (Last Week 3): LSU got manhandled in a way that doesn’t happen very often. Don’t let the final score fool you. Mullen almost gave it back to them, not the players.
  7. Arkansas 3-1 (Last Week 7): I was tempted to put them ahead of LSU, but LSU did beat Wisconsin so that has to be worth something.
  8. South Carolina 3-1 (Last Week 9): Steve Spurrier said it best, they’re not very good. That’s true, and they are still the best team in the East.
  9. Georgia 2-1 (Last Week 10): Dismantled Troy. That happens a lot to Troy these days.
  10. Missouri 3-1 (Last Week 8): Missouri had a terrible loss, but it doesn’t affect their ability to win the East. It’s a mess over there.
  11. Florida 2-1 (Last Week 11): I’m not sure if Florida hung around as long as they did because of what the Gators did or because the Tide kept trying to give it away.
  12. Tennessee 2-1 (Last Week 12): Almost moved them up, but they shouldn’t be rewarded for not playing.
  13. Kentucky 2-1 (Last Week 13): Same thing applies to the Wildcats.
  14. Vanderbilt 1-3 (Last Week 14): Give them credit for giving South Carolina all it could handle. But remember what Spurrier said about his team? Yeah.

Come back next week to see how I stack them up after another week.
