Offense: A+
Let’s go ahead and nitpick for those that like to do such a thing. Yes, we had two turnovers. Yes, there was a bad snap that almost cost the Bulldogs a chance to win. Got it out of your system? Great.
Mississippi State just scored 34 points and dismantled one of the most talented defenses in the entire country. Josh Robinson averaged over 12 yards a carry. Dak Prescott threw for 268 yards against a secondary that had not allowed a single passing touchdown all year long. The offensive line, the biggest question mark entering the game, absolutely imposed their will on the front seven of LSU all night long. If you want me to take points away for anything, I just can’t do it. When you go in and do exactly what you want to do, then it’s hard to ask for much more.
More importantly, Mississippi State proved that the one thing that people questioned about this team might not be such an issue. We knew we would have a great defense, but some didn’t think we would have enough offense to compete against the elite teams. That assertion seems a little silly now.
