For all the MSU alumni and fans living in Alabama who have wanted to display your maroon pride on your license plate – the time has come!

Good news here as you can get the M-State logo right on your Alabama tag. 1,000 pre-commitments are needed by April 20, 2015 to secure the ability to have the new tags. That shouldn’t be a problem, right? The cost will be an additional $50. You can make your commitment HERE.

Here is how things will work per the release:

"Once the required number of commitments is received, the Comptroller will disburse the funds collected in accordance with Alabama law. The new license plates will be ordered, manufactured and delivered to the office of licensing officials. The Department of Revenue will notify licensing officials, the sponsoring organization, and supporters who purchased pre-commitments of the expected availability date of the plates. After the license plates are available in the licensing offices, applicants who purchased pre-commitments will present the original commitment to purchase receipt to the license plate issuing official. If the applicant desires to obtain the license plate before the current plate has expired, the current license plate must be returned to the issuing official for audit purposes. If the license plate is expired, it is retained by the applicant. Applicable issuance fees must be paid to the issuing official before a license plate will be issued."

MSU license plates are now available to Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas and Alabama. Here’s a map of all the MSU car tags in each Mississippi county.
