I was trying to think of an interesting way to poll the some of the biggest and best MSU sports personalities about the football team. What I came up with was to rank the starters and backups based on their confidence level in that player. It was an interesting exercise – one that you might want to try as well.

The criteria was as follows:

Rank each starting player 1-22 based on your confidence level that they can compete toe to toe for a full game against teams like LSU and Alabama (the top of the SEC). Then separate the players who can and can’t do this in your opinion.

Then for the backups, rank them 1-22 based on your confidence level that if the starter went down you would still be comfortable. Then separate he players that can and can’t do this in your opinion.

Here are the people that participated in the poll (in the order I received the votes):

  1. Jake Wimberly from Make it Rain Sports and Maroon Magazine
  2. Paul Jones of Bulldawgs 247
  3. Prediction? Pain from For Whom the Cowbell Tolls
  4. Joel Coleman fromBulldog Sports Radio
  5. Robbie Faulk fromBulldog Blitz
  6. Justin Strawn from Maroon and White Nation
  7. Coach 34 from Elitdawgs
  8. Brooks Roberts from Bulldawgs 247 and Bulldog Sports Radio
  9. Dirty Panda from Maroon and White Nation
  10. Rob Hataway – Road Dawg superfan
  11. Me

I gave each of the voters a pool to choose from for the starters and backups, but told them to choose their own if they believed another player would be in that spot. For that reason, there will be more than 22 players listed.

The number beside each player’s name is their point total. 22 points for 1st place, 21 for 2nd, etc. Players with a * by their name mean more voters didn’t have confidence in them based on the criteria than do. Let’s get to it…
