5. Ole Miss

The Rebels had a resurgent football season. They survived a brutal early season stretch to become 7-3 late in November, but dropped the last to on their way to the Music City Bowl. 8-5 finish.

The basketball team was a disappointment as many expected them to go dancing again behind Marshall Henderson and company….but they weren’t able to make the NIT despite a decent year.

For the first time since 1972 Ole Miss made it to the College World Series. They were a really good team from start to finish in 2014, and their showed well in Omaha going 2-2.
