M&WN All-SEC Team

It seems as though everyone with a website does an all-SEC team. So I thought, hey, I’ve got a website, maybe I should make a run at it! I expect this to be recognized by MSU and talked about on radio shows tomorrow.*

These are my picks only as I didn’t have time to get the picks of all the other writers….or in other words I just didn’t feel like taking the time to do it. But since I’m the editor I’m putting the M&WN stamp on it, ha.

Offense

QB – Johnny Football, A&M
You win the Heisman Trophy one year, and have a statistically better season the next, you make my 1st team.

RB – Tre Mason, AUB
You run for over 300 yards in the SEC Championship Game the week after running for 150 against Alabama, you make my 1st team.

(I actually don’t see that many formations with two RB and two WR, so I’m not going to pick two RB. I’m going to pick three WR).

WR – Jordan Matthews, VU
This guy is an incredible player – he won me over against Ole Miss even though he did drop the final pass – throwing up on the field one play, then catching a 4th and long pass the next. Absolutely incredible that his ONLY offer was to Vanderbilt – no FCS, Division II, etc.

WR – Mike Evans, A&M
I will not miss you when you are gone. Have fun in the NFL!

WR – Jarvis Landry, LSU
I will not miss you either, or your buddy Odell Beckham, Jr.

(I’m going to pick positions, because there can’t be 3-4 tackles on the field, we’ll need two gaurds as well).

T – Jake Matthews, A&M
This is quite the family dynasty they have. Good luck blocking Chris Jones next year, Aggies.

G – Gabe Jackson, MSU
Hail State! Read more HERE on big Gabe.

C – Reese Dismukes, AUB
This guy is really good. He was pretty much the only good O-lineman for Auburn last year, and he’s even better this year. In fact, the best Center according to me.

G – Chad Slade, AUB
Is this guy good? I don’t know. But Auburn’s OL is dominating and he’s on it. You on the my 1st team.

T – Cyrus Kouandjio, BAMA
Future 1st round draft pick, you make the list.

TE – Malcolm Johnson, MSU (when Tyler Russell is playing QB)
MoJo has some great ability, and he really shines when Russell is in there. His best game was against Alabama (6 catches, 84 yards), so he must be good.

Defense

(I distinguish between DE and DT, S and CB, and my 1st team defense plays a 4-3, not a 4-4 as some other list play)

DE – Micheal Sam, MIZZOU
Where did this guy come from? Leads the SEC with 10.5 sacks and 18 TFL.

DT – Kelcy Quarles, USC
I’ve liked this guy from day one. Seriously, I was looking for him to be a play-maker back in the summer of 2011.

DT – Anthony Johnson, LSU
If Dominque Easley would have stayed healthy I think he’s better. But I’ll have to settle for the giant from the Bayou.

DE – Dee Ford, AUB
That’s right – no Jadaveon Clowney. Controversy.

LB – C.J. Mosley, BAMA
You’re finally leaving Alabama? Yay! Who’s taking your place? Oh, crap.

LB – Benardrick McKinney, MSU
That’s right, Denzel Kimdeeeeeeechy, Benardrick is better than you.

LB – Ramik Wilson, UGA
What are they just making linebackers at Georgia now? He led the SEC in tackles, which ordinarily doesn’t mean too much, but he also had 4 sacks and 11 TFL. Another Jarvis Jones in the making.

CB – Chris Davis, AUB
Leads the league with 14 passes defended plus the play of the year in the Iron Bowl? You’re on the team.

S – Nickoe Whitley, MSU
I don’t care if he blew a bunch of coverage, he was hurt! Makes two huge strips in the final two games, was tied for 2nd in the league with 5 INT, and the man is a legend.

S – Kenny Ladler, VU
1st in forced fumbles, T-2nd in INT and 10th in tackles. Plus Ha Ha Clinton-Dix is dumb name.

CB – E.J. Gaines, MIZZOU
4 INT, good player, etc.

(I don’t hand out punters and kickers because that’s just how this 1st team works).

This list also doubles as my All-American team because I have no idea who is good outside of Jameis Winston. The SEC is all that matters – Auburn has already won the national title according to me.
