Bent Bulldawg’s Bites: Season (so far) in Review

facebooktwitterreddit

Well, here we are. We’re halfway through our season with no game today. Seemed like a good time to me to review the season so far, primarily as a way to share my pictures from earlier in the season that you might not have had a chance to see, as I’ve only recently been privileged with this platform with which to share my little “artworks.”

I decided before the season began that each week I would do a pro-MSU picture for our game and an anti-umiss picture for their game to share on Twitter and facebook. Some weeks, however, ended up resulting in more than one picture. Click on the images for the full-sized versions.

Week 1: MSU vs OSU & umiss @ Vandy

I’m sure you all recall that I ended up being 0-2 Week 1. Neither the bells nor the posse did the Dawgs any good, and umiss squeaked one out.

Week 2: Alcorn State @ MSU & Southeast Missouri @ umiss

I guess I was 2-0 Week 2, because I didn’t actually call for umiss to lose. State beat the Braves, and umiss did beat the RedHawks (and bragged about it).

Week 3: MSU @ Auburn & umiss @ Texas

Yet another sad 0-2 week in Week 3. Mullen took his foot off the gas pedal and let the Tigers slip by us in the end. umiss played impressively well and edged a tragically down Longhorn team.

Week 4: Troy @ MSU & umiss OFF
Week 5: MSU OFF & umiss @ Alabama

2-0 again in Weeks 4 & 5. The Bulldawgs slaughtered the Troy Trojans, and Bama squashed umiss flat.

Week 6: LSU @ MSU & umiss @ Auburn

1-1 I suppose in Week 6. The Tigers won, and the Tigers won. I have to interject that while I wasn’t happy with the result of the State – LSU game, after the game, I was three-quarters happy. I was thrilled at how well the Dawgs hung in there… Until the wheels fell off.

Week 7: Bowling Green @ MSU & Texas A&M @ umiss

Week 7 made me question a belief I’ve long held as sacred: “A win is a win, and a loss is a loss.” Sure, State chalked up another win against the Falcons, but it was uglier than any SEC/MAC match-up should ever be. The black bears, on the other hand, added another to the L column, but had about as good a game as a team can have and still lose.

And that brings us to where we are today. We Bulldawgs have the boring ol’ bye week blues backing the Bayou Bengals to bash the black bears. I’ll be posting my pics for each game weekly from here on out so you won’t have to digest so much of my silliness all at once any more. Hope you enjoyed the pics.
