This was not a great look in the midst of getting blown out...

Mississippi State basketball did not enjoy a pleasant trip to Auburn Tuesday night. The #15 Bulldogs were run out of the gym by the top-ranked Tigers, losing 88-66. It was an ugly all-around performance by MSU. They got nothing going offensively, and their defense looked putrid against an Auburn team that was without its best player.

And just to pile on, the Bulldogs fell victim to some trolling on social media that perfectly summarizes how their night went.

Mississippi State basketball "X" account posts pro-Auburn phrase in midst of blowout loss to Tigers

Sports fans rarely want to see anything posted by their team's social media accounts during blowout losses. It only makes them angrier about what's happening in the game. And there's no question Mississippi State fans weren't happy to see what was posted from the Bulldogs' official men's basketball "X" account at halftime.

With State going to the locker room for the break down 46-27, "wde" was posted from the team account. For those not up on SEC abbreviations, that translates to "War Damn Eagle", Auburn's rallying cry.

A State account posting in favor of the team whipping up on them? Not great. Of course that post was quickly deleted, but as we always say on the internet, "screenshots live forever".

So how on earth did this happen? Plain old unprofessionalism? Were they hacked? Many speculated that one of the countless old MSU staffers now working for John Cohen at Auburn must still have the passwords to the account.

According to SportsTalk Mississippi's Brian Hadad, the answer is none of the above.

It appears that an Auburn fan got to a State employee's laptop while they were away from the desk, opened it up (apparently it was still logged-in), and was able to quickly fire off the post.

Clearly, the Mississippi State social media team wasn't playing defense Tuesday night. That's perfectly fitting, as the basketball team sure wasn't playing defense Tuesday night either. Admittedly though, that's a pretty funny troll by that Auburn fan, but it's still a tough look during a tough all around game for the Bulldogs.
