The SEC concluded the 2024-2025 women's basketball regular season on Sunday, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs closed it out the right way with a 73-66 win at Auburn for their 20th victory of the season. With the regular season complete, the postseason can get underway.
That will start in Greenville, SC for the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament, and the bracket for the tournament has been set. Mississippi State checks in as the 10-seed.

Mississippi State women's basketball will face the Missouri Tigers on Wednesday
Mississippi State's opening round matchup comes against a team that gave them a painful loss a little over a month ago. The Bulldogs will take on the 15-seed Missouri Tigers. Missouri had a difficult season, going 14-17 with just three SEC wins.
But that didn't matter when they played State, as the Tigers upset the Bulldogs 78-77 on a buzzer-beater, giving MSU their worst loss of the year. Mississippi State needs a much different outcome this time around.
A potential rivalry rematch with Ole Miss is possible for the Bulldogs
If State were to beat Missouri, their Thursday matchup would be against 7-seed Ole Miss. It would be another rematch against a team that beat the Bulldogs earlier this year. The Rebels defeated MSU 71-63 in Starkville thanks to the Bulldogs committing 23 turnovers.
Ole Miss has been a great team this season. If State were to play them, it wouldn't just be a chance at getting back at their rivals. It would also be a chance at adding a big win to potentially improve their seeding for the NCAA Tournament. But they've got to get by Missouri first.
Mississippi State needs one more win to secure a trip to the NCAA Tournament
On the note of getting by Missouri, the Bulldogs need to handle business on Wednesday. They're currently on the right side of the NCAA Tournament bubble and have an ounce of breathing room. But a loss to this Mizzou team on a neutral court would be potentially devastating to their resume at this point in the season.
Beat the Tigers, and there's no concern. They're dancing. But with a loss, it becomes a coin-flip, and that's not a spot you want to be in. Their shot at ending any speculation comes Wednesday night at 5:00 PM CT, with the game airing on the SEC Network.
