Mississippi State Bulldogs vs #7 Tennessee Volunteers score predictions

After finally getting a win, the reality of life in the SEC returns for Mississippi State football, as the Bulldogs head up the Rocky Top to take on the #7 Volunteers. Do we think State has any shot in this one?

Chase: Mississippi State won an impressive game last week against UMass. Is it possible for Mississippi State to ride that momentum into Neyland Stadium? No, and I say that because Tennessee’s eyes are on the playoffs. There's no margin of error in Knoxville, as a loss this weekend will cost the Vols a spot in college football playoff rankings. Mississippi State will put up a fight, but it won’t be enough. Mississippi State loses 35-21

Reed: The Vols win because of their front 4. Their offense will also be clicking this week as they get ready for Georgia. Mississippi State loses 48-23

Andrew: Despite Tennessee's occasional offensive struggles and State's better performances as of late on offense, I have a hard time seeing the Bulldogs keep this one close. The Tennessee defense will be too much for State to handle, giving a young QB in Michael Van Buren fits. And State's defense will get the Vols' own offense back into gear. Mississippi State loses 41-16
