SEC Football predictions for Week 13

This week in the SEC is all about contending teams avoiding letdowns, but we aren't sure all of them will.

9 Ole Miss at Florida

Chase: Jaxson Dart and Lane Kiffin’s offense is clicking at the right time. Ole Miss is dangerous for anyone to face, and Florida is in trouble this week. Luckily DJ Lagaway is fully back for the Gators, but it won't be enough to pull off the upset in Gainesville. Ole Miss wins

Reed: Ole Miss will win this because of their pass rush, but DJ Lagway will make enough plays to keep this game interesting. Ole Miss wins

Andrew: We'd all love nothing more than for the Gators to ruin the Rebels' season, but I doubt that happens. I don't think Florida can replicate their success from last week, and I think having a bye to see Florida beat LSU was enough for Ole Miss to settle in and avoid a letdown. Ole Miss wins

Kentucky at 3 Texas

Chase: Texas cannot afford to lose at all this weekend. A SEC championship is possible for the Longhorns, but they need to take care of business. I expect Texas to run the score up to impress the playoff committee. Kentucky is in for a world of trouble. Texas wins

Reed: The Longhorns are just too talented everywhere on the field for Kentucky to have a chance. I think the outcome will be similar to what we saw when State went to Austin, but Kentucky does not have the offensive firepower to keep up with Texas. Texas wins

Andrew: Kentucky stinks, and Texas will handle them with ease. Texas wins

7 Alabama at Oklahoma

Chase: Alabama has another road test to complete to keep an SEC championship on the table. I expect Alabama’s offense to get it going behind Jalen Milroe and Ryan Williams. No matter how cold it will be in Norman, the Sooners do not have enough on offense and defense to compete with the Crimson Tide. Alabama wins

Reed: Alabama is now playing like a well-oiled machine, and the inept Sooners offense should make this easy for the Tide. Alabama wins

Andrew: I anticipate a fun atmosphere in Norman and for the OU defense to give Alabama trouble. But I don't anticipate the Sooners doing anything of their own offensively. Alabama wins

15 Texas A&M at Auburn

Chase: Texas A&M is one of the surprising teams of the SEC. Despite their loss to South Carolina, the Aggies are a few steps away from playing in Atlanta for the SEC championship. Mike Elko has done a tremendous job in College Station, as he is the right guy to lead the Aggies forward. I do not trust Auburn, as they continue to self-destruct. Hugh Freeze has lost his team as a whole. Texas A&M wins

Reed: I am going with the upset here. Jordan-Hare at night is always a difficult place to play. Plus I do think that A&M will be looking ahead to their game with Texas. Auburn wins

Andrew: There is no football reason for Texas A&M to lose. But Aggie lore says that a crushing defeat one week before their biggest game in decades is unavoidable. Auburn wins

Vanderbilt at LSU

Chase: Vanderbilt is a sneaky team that has credible wins under their belt this season. Diego Pavia is a complex quarterback that LSU’s defense will have a hard time stopping. Brian Kelly has lost complete control of his team, and it is showing in Baton Rouge. LSU’s collapse will trickle into next season as long as Kelly is the head coach. Vanderbilt wins

Reed: LSU wins a close one here. Once again, I think the difference comes down to the talent at the skill positions. LSU wins

Andrew: LSU is probably still the better team, but I think quitting is possible. And we've seen the Tigers attempt at containing running QBs (they can't). Vanderbilt wins
