SEC Games

Could the SEC see another trio of Top-10 teams fall? Or at least could one lose? Here's what we think...

South Carolina at 7 Alabama

Chase: After a shocking loss last week against Vanderbilt, Alabama has a lot to fix. Luckily, South Carolina is a mess this season, so this is a great opportunity for Alabama to bounce back. One thing to look out for is Alabama’s defense and where they stand. Alabama wins

Reed: Alabama should bounce back with a win, and Shane Beamer seems to be way over his head with a terrible coaching performance versus Ole Miss. Alabama wins

Andrew: It'd be fun to say the Tide totally implode after losing to Vandy, but I don't see it happening against a South Carolina team I'm now totally out on. Alabama wins

1 Texas vs 18 Oklahoma

Chase: This rivalry always brings the best out of both sides. I expect this game to be a close game, but unlike last year, Texas will leave Dallas with a win. Texas wins

Reed: I believe OU will keep this close because of their defense, but their offense has looked too stagnant this season to be able to outscore elite offenses. Texas should pull away late. Texas wins

Andrew: Red River is almost always fun, and I expect the OU defense to give the Sooners a chance. But Texas is just a far better team and pulls away for the win. Texas wins

Florida at 8 Tennessee

Chase: Tennessee losing last week was the worst thing to happen for Florida. This will be a bounce back game for Tennessee, especially for their offense to get back on track. I have Nico Iamaleava to be the “MVP” for this game. Tennessee wins

Reed: Tennessee’s offense has not looked the same in their previous two games, but they have more depth and are better coached than Florida. Also, Florida under Napier have been disappointing, and I think this trend continues. Tennessee wins

Andrew: Another great SEC rivalry that mostly just brings pain to Tennessee regardless of how either team is going. And Florida did have the better performance last week. But I think the Vols bounce back at home. Tennessee wins

9 Ole Miss at 13 LSU

Chase: Ole Miss has regressed a bit since their loss to Kentucky, and it will cost them as they travel to Death Valley. Jaxson Dart will need to be superman once again for Ole Miss, but I don’t see that happening. LSU wins

Reed: I think the magic of Tiger Stadium carries LSU to victory. Ole Miss has not won here since 2008, and even with South Carolina playing as bad as they were, in my opinion, Ole Miss failed to capitalize. LSU’s defense is suspect which plays into the Rebels’ favor, but I think the home crowd pushes LSU to victory. LSU wins

Andrew: Ole Miss handling business last week coming off a loss, even if they didn't play particularly well, says to me that team isn't done competing in this league even though I wish they were. Their defense is about to get its first real test, and Death Valley has been a house of horrors for the Rebels. But I think they snap their losing-streak in Baton Rouge. Ole Miss wins

Vanderbilt at Kentucky

Chase: Vanderbilt showed they are not of old but of new. Their victory last week against Alabama will continue to propel their program to new heights and momentum into Lexington. I expect the new kid on the block, Diego Pavia, to continue his great play against Kentucky’s defense. Vanderbilt wins

Reed: Vanderbilt’s win was not fluky versus Alabama as they controlled the line of scrimmage, and they won straight up. However, I do think there will be a letdown as they will be playing one of the best defenses in the country. Kentucky wins

Andrew: Call me the fun police if you want, but there isn't a more obvious letdown game than this one. Vandy is coming down from the highest of highs they've literally ever had, and I think that costs them on the road against a solid Kentucky team. Kentucky wins
