SEC football predictions for Week 9

This week's SEC slate features a key matchup for the league title race and then several games where one or both side is just holding on for dear life. It should be fun!

Oklahoma at 18 Ole Miss

Chase: Lane Kiffin’s offense will be too much for a depleted Oklahoma team. Jaxson Dart’s ability to stretch the field and extend plays will be the difference maker. Ole Miss wins

Reed: Ole Miss wins this for two reasons. The first reason is that they have one of the top defenses in the country. The second reason is that Oklahoma has one of the worst offenses in the country which is still hard to believe given what they have done in the past. Ole Miss wins

Andrew: I know Rebel fans are freaking out about their team, but there's literally no reason this should be close. OU cannot score. Ole Miss wins

21 Missouri at 15 Alabama

Chase: A homecoming game is perfect timing for the Crimson Tide. Jalen Milroe will show everyone why he is still a Heisman favorite. I expect Alabama’s offense to pick it up and score a high clip. Alabama wins

Reed: Alabama has been poorly coached on the defensive side of the ball, and Milroe appears to have regress. With that being said, Missouri has proven to be overrated so far, and I think Alabama’s talent will be enough for them to win a close one. Alabama wins

Andrew: We've reached meltdown status in Tuscaloosa, and the Tide could absolutely lose this game. But the Tigers are super banged-up on offense, so I'll take Bama. Alabama wins

5 Texas at 25 Vanderbilt

Chase: Vanderbilt is no longer the laughing stock of the SEC but rather a team to look out for. Texas’s offense hit a brick wall last week and it wont stop as they head to Nashville.  Vanderbilt wins

Reed: I think Vanderbilt underperforms this game while Texas comes out firing on all cylinders, and I think they will cover the spread. Texas wins

Andrew: Nothing would be funnier than Texas losing to Vanderbilt, and the 'Dores have shown they are a legitimately good team. But this is probably too much to ask of them. Texas wins

8 LSU at 14 Texas A&M

Chase: Last week was not a fluke for LSU as they dominated rival Arkansas. Their defense is starting to come together at the right time. It will be a battle in College Station, but LSU will find a way to avoid the upset. LSU wins

Reed: LSU’s defense has not been great, but we did see how Mississippi State was able to have some success against the Aggies offense. I think A&M makes one too many mistakes and the Bayou Bengals walk out with a win. LSU wins

Andrew: This is the game of the day. Two SEC teams fighting to stay undefeated in league play, firmly in the conference title and playoff race. The Tigers are one of the few teams that can block the A&M DL, and I think Garrett Nussmeier makes a few more plays than Conner Weigman. LSU wins

Auburn at Kentucky

Chase: It is rinse and repeat for Auburn as they continue their season. Hugh Freeze and Auburn somehow figure out a way to lose down the stretch. Kentucky is good enough to manage the game and secure a win against Auburn. Kentucky wins

Reed: Both teams are not good, and this game should be a pick ‘em if it is not. I think Kentucky wins this because of their defense which had success versus Georgia and Ole Miss. Kentucky wins

Andrew: "No one liked this". This game is disgusting. Two of the worst teams in the league. But Auburn tends to find ways to lose, so I'll assume they do that again. Kentucky wins
