SEC football predictions for Week 12
The SEC slate isn't loaded by any means, but Tennessee-Georgia is massive. Here are our picks...
3 Texas at Arkansas
Chase: Texas’s passing attack will be on display this weekend. Quinn Ewers will exploit Arkansas’s secondary. I expect Texas to win with a comfortable lead. Texas wins
Reed: The difference here is the talent. It will be close, but Texas’ offensive and
defensive line will be the difference. Texas wins
Andrew: Arkansas views this as a rivalry, so they are going to pull out all the stops for this one. And we have seen the Hogs challenge a good Tennessee team. But I think Texas is just multi-dimensional to be shutdown in Fayetteville. Texas wins
22 LSU at Florida
Chase: LSU’s offensive weapons will be too much for Florida to handle. I expect LSU to open the gates of heaven against Florida’s defense. LSU wins
Reed: Lagway is back, but him not fully healthy is why LSU will win a close one. LSU wins
Andrew: The vibes aren't great for either of these teams after last week. Florida getting DJ Lagway back makes things interesting, and the Gators almost certainly need a win to make a bowl. But even after LSU's showing vs Bama, I can't trust Florida enough to call the upset. LSU wins
23 Mizzou at 21 South Carolina
Chase: South Carolina smells blood in the water for this weekend’s matchup. South Carolina’s defensive line is fun to watch. Their offense continues to improve little by little. Mizzou is hailing with key injuries across the board. South Carolina wins
Reed: The Gamecocks pass rush will cause havoc all night in one of the most
underrated atmospheres in America. South Carolina wins
Andrew: Mizzou is 7-2. If you flipped their one-score games, they'd be 3-6. South Carolina is 6-3. If you flipped their one-score games, they'd be 7-2. That's not a drastic improvement, but you get the point. The Tigers are not that good, and the Gamecocks are playing good football. South Carolina wins
7 Tennessee at 12 Georgia
Chase: Nico Iamaleava’s injury is something to look at, whether he plays or not. Tennessee’s offense seemed to find some juice, but the problem is Georgia’s defense after a loss is dangerous. I don't trust Carson Beck, but his mistakes will be to a minimum. Georgia wins
Reed: The Vols' defense combined with Carson Beck's struggles is why Tennessee gets it done. Tennessee wins
Andrew: Georgia's offense has been abysmal, and against Tennessee's defense, that's worrisome. But Georgia's defense has mostly been fine, Tennessee's own offense has been shaky, Nico Iamaleava may not play, and we've seen UGA have no issues shutting down this system in previous years. This will be an ugly game, but I'll take the Dawgs in a slugfest, only making the SEC more of a cluster. Georgia wins
