We've made it through the first real weekend of the college football season, and several SEC teams grabbed headlines (for a variety of reasons) after taking the field for the first time. After Week 1's action, how have the preseason SEC power rankings changed?

SEC Football Power Rankings after Week 1

1. Georgia Bulldogs

There's no questioning who the top team in both the SEC and the nation is after Saturday. Georgia's 34-3 obliteration of Clemson served as a reminder that, at least for now, they might as well be playing a different sport than anyone else.

2. Texas Longhorns

Texas whipped up on Colorado State badly enough that Arch Manning was able to enter the game long enough to get the hype machine turned into overdrive.

3. Ole Miss Rebels

76-0. Lane Kiffin chose to make a statement with his playoff-contending team, and he poured it on against Furman. Can we take much away from it? No, but so far, they look like the team we expected this season.

4. Alabama Crimson Tide

Kalen DeBoer began his tenure in Tuscaloosa rolling WKU 63-0. Jalen Milroe looks ready to have an even bigger year, and true freshman WR Ryan Williams is a superstar in the making.

5. Tennessee Volunteers

We'll learn a lot more about the Vols next week when they play NC State in Charlotte, but you could not have asked for a better opening game. Nico Iamaleava threw for 314 yards in just one half of the way to a 69-3 rout.

6. Missouri Tigers

Business as usual for Mizzou. The Tigers were up 28-0 on Murray State before anyone can blink and coasted to a 51-0 victory.

7. Oklahoma Sooners

The offense stalled on a few occasions, but otherwise, Oklahoma handled business against Temple to win 51-3. Jackson Arnold showed off the talent that has Sooners' fans raving over him.

8. Auburn Tigers (up from 10)

Maybe all this team needed was some wide receivers. Hugh Freeze revamped his WR room, and that was enough to put 73 on the board in their opener.

9. LSU Tigers (down from 8)

Brian Kelly is "so angry", as should be. The Tigers just lost their fifth-straight season-opener after a 27-20 loss to USC. Their offense looked solid with Garrett Nussmeier, but situational play-calling was shaky. And while the defense looked improved overall, they still couldn't make stops when they needed them.

10. Texas A&M Aggies (down from 9)

The A&M defense was largely as advertised. The A&M offense is still a huge work in progress. Notre Dame has an elite defense, but Conner Weigman might not be the right guy for this offense.

11. Kentucky Wildcats

Rain delayed this game on multiple occasions and ultimately led to it being called early. But despite the poor weather, Kentucky did what it needed to, handling USM 31-0.

12. Vanderbilt Commodores (up from 16)

How 'bout them 'Dores?! The hope for Vandy was that Diego Pavia was a special enough QB to carry them to a surpsising win or two. That's exactly what happened in Week 1, as Vanderbilt upset potential ACC-dark horse 34-27 in OT. I don't know that they're actually better than most of these teams below them, but they deserve to be here after that win.

13. Mississippi State Bulldogs

It's Showtime in Starkville. Jeff Lebby promised an exciting offense, and that's exactly what he delivered. There's certainly things that need improving, and the defense remains questionable. But a 56-7 win to open the season is a great start.

14. Arkansas Razorbacks (up from 15)

I don't care who you play. 70-0 and scoring a TD on literally every possession is impressive. Now, Pine Bluff is really bad, and we'll learn way more about this team next week at Oklahoma State. But you've got to like what you saw from the Hogs.

15. Florida Gators (down from 12)

It's over. Look I bought into the idea that Napier would get Florida on the right track this season despite the brutal schedule. But they looked as bad as ever in their 41-17 home loss to Miami. This team is on the verge of quitting after just one week.

16. South Carolina Gamecocks (down from 14)

I'll say this Gamecocks, at least you won. And maybe that should be enough to have you ahead of Florida. But a 23-19 win over Old Dominion where South Carolina needed four turnovers to get it done isn't exactly better. Things are rough in Columbia.
