Mississippi State football hasn't been much fun to keep up with this season, but there's still a ton of fantastic college football action to follow. And the Maroon and White Nation team is giving their predictions for the best games each week of the season as well as predicting the results for the Bulldogs (which is not nearly as enjoyable). We might have our best slate of games on the season this weekend, so what are we expecting?

Let's take a look at home our team has done with their predictions through four weeks...

Chase Brumfield: 26-14

Reed Green: 24-16

Andrew Miller: 26-14

Now on to Week 5!

National Games

It will be a fantastic weekend of football across the country, starting Friday night in New Jersey.

Washington at Rutgers

Chase: Former Bulldog, Will Rogers, will be the difference maker in this Big 10 matchup. This will be a close one in the first half but Washington will settle in and pull away with the victory. Washington wins

Reed: With a new coaching staff and entirely new roster having to travel across the entire country, it will be difficult for Washington to win on the road. Rutgers wins

Andrew: A school from the Pacific Northwest is playing a team from the Northeast, and it's a conference game for a league that's supposed to represent the Midwest. College football makes perfect sense! Beyond the stupidity of this being a conference game, Washington literally traveling cross-country for a Friday night game against a legitimately good Rutgers team doesn't bode well for them. Rutgers wins

20 Oklahoma State at 23 Kansas State

Chase: Avery Johnson has become a phenom for college football this season. Oklahoma State’s running game continues to be a problem for their offense so the defense is taking more than need be. This will be a good game overall. Kansas State wins

Reed: I think the homefield advantage determines the winner here versus two evenly matched teams. Kansas State wins

Andrew: K-State had a rough night in Provo last week, but despite the lopsided final score, it was a pretty fluky game. They're still a good team. Meanwhile Oklahoma State is looking more and more suspect, as they're completely unable to get Ollie Gordon going. That's a problem considering he's most of their offense. Kansas State wins

15 Louisville at 16 Notre Dame

Chase: Notre Dame is in a weird predicament for their offense with Riley Leonard under center. I am not that confident in the Fighting Irish, but Louisville is a team that is unpredictable. This game could honestly go either way. Notre Dame wins

Reed: After a lot of departures and roster turnover, Louisville has been one of the surprising teams this season. I think they get the win against a Notre Dame team that has failed to meet expectations so far. Louisville wins

Andrew: I'm going to be totally honest. I haven't watched Louisville this year, and I've only watched a little of Notre Dame. I'm just going to take the favored home team and roll with it. Notre Dame wins

19 Illinois at 9 Penn State

Chase: Penn State is a sneaky team that could make some noise once the season gets closer to the playoffs. Drew Allar is playing lights out for Penn State, and unfortunately for Illinois, Penn State’s fan base is incredible at Beaver Stadium. Penn State wins

Reed: Illinois is well-coached, but I think the talent gap and playing in Happy Valley will be too much for them to overcome. Penn State wins

Andrew: Illinois is solid, but I like Penn State in the whiteout. Penn State wins

Washington State at 25 Boise State

Chase: Asthon Jeanty continues to make his mark as one of the best running backs in college football this season. Washington State pulled an upset win against Washington, but I don’t see an upset in this game. Boise State wins

Reed: This would be a pick ‘em game for me, but I will give the Broncos the edge with it being at home. Boise State wins

Andrew: This will be the most fun game of the day. John Mateer and Wazzu against Ashton Jeanty is the ultimate fireworks game. Neither defense is good, but I think Jeanty in particular has a chance to really show-out. Boise State wins

SEC Games

It should be a good day of SEC action, with the biggest game of the day happening in Tuscaloosa.

Kentucky at 6 Ole Miss

Chase: Lane Kiffin understands what it means to keep the main thing a priority. Jaxson Dart and Tre Harris will light it up against Kentucky’s depleted defense. Ole Miss wins

Reed: This is not the same Kentucky team in previous years, and they are traveling to take on the Rebels’ best team ever. I think Dart has a big day, and they win by double-digits. Ole Miss wins

Andrew: Kentucky played Georgia down the wire, and I do think that says something about them. But keeping up with a team like Ole Miss that's going to spread them out and play fast is another story. And I don't think they'll be able to. Ole Miss wins

21 Oklahoma at Auburn

Chase: I am not that confident in Hugh Freeze’s team due to his recent comments about his players and Arkansas. But lucky for them, Oklahoma is missing a lot of their key players for this game due to injury. Auburn wins

Reed: After a lackluster performance versus Tennessee, the Sooners will bounce back here. Auburn’s lack of quarterback play will be the difference here. Oklahoma wins

Andrew: I really don't want to put any faith in Auburn considering the situation there right now. And OU's defense vs Payton Thorne seems like a massive mismatch. But the Sooners are down their top-5 WRs, have a bad OL, and just changed QBs. We might see 3-2 again, but I'll take War Eagle. Auburn wins

Arkansas vs 24 Texas A&M

Chase: Arkansas will build off last week’s win in Auburn with a convincing victory at Kyle Field. Keep your eye out for Andrew Armstrong to have a breakout game for the Razorbacks. Arkansas wins

Reed: This game is always weird, but I think the Aggies pull this one off late in the fourth quarter. The difference here will be their defensive line play. Texas A&M wins

Andrew: I've been forced to change my opinion of Arkansas. They've got something on offense with their ground game, and they're playing solid enough defense to be a decent team. A&M's defense is stout, but I think the Hogs keep their surprise season going. Arkansas wins

2 Georgia at 4 Alabama

Chase: Kirby Smart, other than Nick Saban, is the greatest motivator in sports. Georgia’s defense will raise their level of dominance against Jalen Milroe. I believe Kalen DeBoer will experience what it truly means to be in the SEC. Georgia wins

Reed: This is almost a coin flip, but I think Georgia is a more complete team, and Kirby Smart has the coaching edge over Kalen DeBoer at the moment. Georgia wins

Andrew: Alabama has been a bit too reliant on explosive plays on offense, and Georgia's defense doesn't give up big plays. I like Georgia's chances on being to grind out a win. Georgia wins

Mississippi State Bulldogs vs Texas Longhorns predictions

Do any of our contributors think State has a chance in Austin on Saturday?

Chase: Texas’s offense is too powerful for Mississippi State’s defense. Too much is going badly for Jeff Lebby this season, and it won’t stop again for this game. I believe Texas will continue their dominance not only on the offense side, but their defense will make some noise too. Texas wins 56-3

Reed: Texas will win because of talent and coaching. It will be a miracle if State covers the spread. Texas wins 52-10

Andrew: We all know how this is going to go. State doesn't have a chance here. Even if they were fully healthy, they'd be a bad football team going on the road against the #1 team. Now they're an even worse team going on the road against the #1 team. I just hope Michael Van Buren's confidence doesn't get ruined because of this game. Texas wins 51-9
