The third day of the 2024 NFL Draft is underway. No Mississippi State football stars were selected during the first three rounds of the draft, which took place on Thursday and Friday, but some Bulldogs could hear their names called today during rounds four through seven.
Four former State players have the possibility of being drafted on Saturday.
Cornerback Decamerion Richardson is considered by many prognosticators to be the best Mississippi State player available in the 2024 NFL Draft. Richardson has great size for a corner and can run blazing fast. That makes him incredibly attractive to NFL franchises. His production in college was somewhat lacking, which is why he hasn't yet been selected, but he'll likely be taken as a developmental pick with a high ceiling today.
Linebacker Nathaniel Watson finished his Mississippi State career as one of the best linebackers in SEC history. He was a terror across the middle of the field, racking up ridiculous tackle numbers, and he's a fantastic pass rusher. Watson's athleticism isn't quite to the level NFL teams are looking for, but his production can't be ignored. He can fill a role for a franchise.
Defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy was a force along the defensive line for the Bulldogs. He was a great run stopper and opened pass rush lanes for blitzers like Nathaniel Watson. Crumedy could easily become a rotational defensive lineman at the next level. Will he continue to grow Mississippi State's reputation as "D-Line U"?
Finally, wide receiver Tulu Griffin is an explosive playmaker that could be selected. Griffin worked both outside and in the slot at MSU and was fantastic at gaining yards after catch off screens and quick passes. He also flashed as a legit deep threat. But his best trait is that he's an elite kick returner. Griffin could be a special teams superstar in the league.

Nathaniel Watson drafted in 6th round by the Cleveland Browns
Linebacker Nathaniel "Bookie" Watson became the third Mississippi State football player taken in the 2024 NFL Draft. Watson was selected by the Cleveland Browns in the 6th Round with the 206th overall pick.
Bookie joins an elite Cleveland defense and gets to reunite for former teammate Martin Emerson. Despite Cleveland's defensive success, linebacker was a spot they were thin. That means Watson should have a chance to find a role in their LB rotation.
Jaden Crumedy drafted in 6th round by the Carolina Panthers
A second Bulldog is officially off the board. Defensive tackle Jaden Crumedy was taken in the 6th Round of the 2024 NFL Draft by the Carolina Panthers with the 200th overall pick.
Crumedy will likely be a depth piece for the Panthers. They've got a good group of starters along the interior defensive line, but with unproven pieces behind them, further depth was needed. Crumedy excels as a run-stopper, which fits in with Carolina's defense.
Decamerion Richardson drafted in 4th round by the Las Vegas Raiders
Cornerback Decamerion Richardson became the first Mississippi State football player off the board in the 2024 NFL Draft. He was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the 4th round with the 112th overall pick.
Cornerback was seen as one of the biggest needs for the Raiders entering the draft, and they're addressing that with the addition of Richardson. Richardson needs to refine his skillset more, but he's got a great ceiling. He'll have a chance to be a major contributor in Las Vegas.
