Mississippi State Bulldogs Weekend Recap: Key Games in Basketball and Football Stars at NFL Combine

This past weekend was one of the busiest we've had for Mississippi State Bulldogs athletics in a long time. Former football stars participated in the 2024 NFL Combine, men's basketball played a big game at Auburn, women's basketball closed out the regular season with Missouri, baseball got a much-needed sweep, and softball continued a dominant start to the season.

Mississippi State men's basketball falls at Auburn

Mississippi State men's basketball lost at Auburn 78-63. The Bulldogs got off to a terrible start in the first half, particularly on the offensive end. State got into more of a groove in the second half to make it more competitive, but they had dug themselves too big a hole. You won't win at Auburn unless you give a full 40-minute effort. Mississippi State women's basketball wins regular season finale

Mississippi State women's basketball snapped a five-game losing streak with a 90-75 win over the Missouri Tigers on Senior Day in Starkville. State's defense struggled early, but their offense exploded in the second half to give them a critical win as they head into postseason play. Here's our recap of the win...

Mississippi State women's basketball also learned their matchup for the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament this week in Greenville, South Carolina. They'll open up the tournament with the Texas A&M Aggies.

Mississippi State baseball picks up sweep

Mississippi State baseball got a sweep over Mount St. Mary's (MD) this weekend. The Bulldogs won game one in dominant fashion on Thursday 12-2. After weather got in the way on Friday, they played a Saturday double-header, winning 7-2 and 6-0, respectively. State's pitching had an absolutely dominant series, a great sign after last season's struggles. This was a much-needed sweep for the Diamond Dawgs, who are now 8-4, after a slow start to the season.

Mississippi State softball dominates Bulldog Invitational

Mississippi State softball continued their blazing hot start to the 2024 season with a 6-0 weekend at their own "Bulldog Invitational" in Starkville. State took down Southern Miss, Troy and Alcorn State twice, and Samford, with five of their six wins coming in 5-inning run rules.

Softball moved to 17-3 on the season. They'll begin SEC play this coming weekend when they travel to Oxford to take on rival Ole Miss.
