Mississippi State basketball vs. Florida: MSU Bulldogs projected starters
By Ethan Lee
Chris Jans and his Mississippi State basketball team are in Gainesville getting ready to face off against the Florida Gators. Both of these teams could badly use an SEC win and would love to move up in the SEC standings. Both of these teams have plenty of potential.
As the Bulldogs get set to face the Gators, it's worth wondering how MSU will fare in this contest. Mostly because the bad luck on the road extends beyond just this season. So far this season, Mississippi State sits at 0-3 in road games and the Bulldogs are 6-3 when playing away from Starkville.
In road games, MSU has been unable to break through and they've fallen to Georgia Tech, South Carolina, and Kentucky. But that's just this year. Overall since Jans has been at Mississippi State, the Bulldogs are 4-8 in road games.
That's not exactly the sort of success that MSU wants to have in opposing venues.
So, how will MSU fare on the road tonight? That's to be determined. And it'll be interesting to see if the Bulldogs continue to roll with their starting lineup as is. What does the starting lineup look like? Well, let's go over a couple projections of the starting five for Mississippi State as the Bulldogs get set to face the Florida Gators.
Mississippi State basketball vs. Florida Gators: Projected starting lineup for the Bulldogs
Here's Mississippi State's projected starters, according to MSU's game notes:
- Dashawn Davis
- Shakeel Moore
- D.J. Jeffries
- Cameron Matthews
- Tolu Smith III
And here's Mississippi State's projected starters, according to Florida's game notes:
- D.J. Jeffries
- Tolu Smith III
- Cameron Matthews
- Shakeel Moore
- Dashawn Davis
If you'll notice, that's the same starting five, just in a different order. So, both the Florida Gators and the Bulldogs are projecting this starting lineup.
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out for Mississippi State. Can the Bulldogs keep up with Florida's offense? Will Jans run this lineup out on the court? If he does, what sort of matchups and in-game adjustments will he make?
