The Mississippi State men's basketball team really needs to get an SEC road win if the MSU Bulldogs are going to make an impact in the Southeastern Conference this season. And tonight's game against the Florida Gators might just provide a pretty good opportunity to do just that.

But, unfortunately for MSU, the Gators have a pretty talented offense that puts up a ton of points. The Bulldogs will have to find a way to keep up with a Florida team that is averaging nearly 85 points per game this season.

Can the Bulldogs do that? Do the Bulldogs have enough firepower to keep up with Florida (especially considering this game is in Florida's very own venue and not back in Starkville)?

That remains to be seen.

As we start looking ahead to Wednesday night's game against the Gators, let's take a look at the projected lineup for the Florida Gators. We've already taken a look at the projected lineup for the MSU Bulldogs, so now it's time to start examining the other team involved in this contest.

Mississippi State basketball: Florida Gators' projected starting lineup vs. MSU Bulldogs

Here's Florida's projected starting lineup, according to Florida's game notes:

  • Tyrese Samuel
  • Micah Handlogten
  • Will Richard
  • Walter Clayton Jr.
  • Zyon Pullin

Interestingly enough, Mississippi State did not publish a projected starting lineup for Florida in the way that the Gators did for the Bulldogs. But hey, that's fine. More than likely it'd probably be just about the same, as we saw with the projected MSU starters.

Back on topic for a moment. This is a lineup that scores a ton of points. While Florida seems like a team that has a lot of offensive talent top to bottom, this projected starting lineup features four players scoring at least 10.8 points per game.

Can the Bulldogs keep up with that? Can they slow it down? What's going to happen as Mississippi State tries to handle the Gators in Gainesville this evening?
