Mississippi State football lands talented former ACC DL through transfer portal
By Ethan Lee
First year head coach Jeff Lebby's recruiting efforts through the transfer portal continue to be big for the Mississippi State football program. This time, Lebby is adding the a remarkably talented defensive lineman from the ACC.
Kedrick Bingley-Jones is leaving the North Carolina Tar Heels and the former 4-star recruit (from his high school days) is now set to play for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. And given how much MSU needs help on the defensive line, there's a very good chance the 3-star transfer portal defensive line prospect has an immediate impact on the Bulldogs' defense.
Once one of the best defensive lineman recruiting prospects in the country, Bingley-Jones commanded a lot of respect coming out of high school. Things didn't necessarily work out for Bingley-Jones while he was with Mack Brown and the Tar Heels, but there's a chance he'll have a chance to shine with Jeff Lebby and the MSU Bulldogs.
As long as Bingley-Jones is healthy, that is.
Bingley-Jones brings tremendous size and strength to Starkville, and that could conceivably help MSU control the line of scrimmage. Bingley-Jones was a regular contributor for the Tar Heels and played in 26 games during his time at North Carolina.
He hasn't always been 100 percent healthy, but if he can help provide talent, experience, and quality depth to this defensive front, then he'll certainly be a valuable addition for the Mississippi State football program.

Bingley-Jones is heading into his senior season with the Bulldogs and Mississippi State definitely needs the experience that he brings to the table.
A lot has changed within the Mississippi State football program and for Lebby to see success sooner rather than later, the Bulldogs will need to have solid leadership all over the roster. And if Bingley-Jones can stay healthy, MSU isn't just getting an experienced player who brings depth to Starkville, Mississippi State would then be getting a phenomenal talent as well.
