Mississippi State Bulldogs pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje will be a first round pick in the 2024 MLB Draft
Mississippi State baseball is all but guaranteed to have at least one first rounder in the 2024 MLB Draft. Pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje is a consensus first round pick in mock drafts. Cijntje finished the 2024 season with an 8-2 record and a 3.67 ERA, striking out 113 batters. He earned 2nd Team All-American honors, and could be taken as early as the Top-20 of tonight's draft.
Mississippi State Bulldogs outfielder Dakota Jordan could go at end of first round in the 2024 MLB Draft
Following the traditional, 30-pick first round, the 2024 MLB Draft features nine extra first round selections consisting of Prospect Promotion Incentive Picks, a Compensatory Round, and a Competitive Balance Round. There's a good chance Bulldog outfielder Dakota Jordan gets taken with one of those picks. Jordan was a .354 hitter for State in 2024 with 20 home runs. He was named 2nd Team All-American and won the 2024 Ferris Trophy.
Several Mississippi State baseball stars could go in first two days of 2024 MLB Draft
Along with Jurrangelo Cijntje and Dakota Jordan, three other Diamond Dawgs are listed at Top-175 prospects entering the 2024 MLB Draft. Pitchers Khal Stephen and Nate Dohm and first-baseman Hunter Hines should all be taken in the first two days of this year's draft. There's a chance Stephen could be taken tonight, but he should go early Monday at the latest.
The "State to the Show" pipeline should remain strong in 2024.
