Injury report for Mississippi State vs Northern Illinois
Mississippi State is evaluating three Bulldogs ahead of Saturday's matchup. Starting right tackle Albert Reese IV and reserve safety/special teams star Stonka Burnside did not play against Alcorn State while cornerback Jett Jefferson has not yet played for the Bulldogs this season. HC Jeff Lebby says they will be evaluted later in the week. Northern Illinois had seven players out with injury in their last game two weeks ago, though none were starters. Updates on those players have not yet been made available.

This will be the first ever matchup between the Bulldogs and Huskies. Mississippi State has played five games against MAC opponents with a 4-1 record. Last season, the Bulldogs suffered their first ever loss to the MAC, a 41-17 blowout defeat to Toledo. NIU has played 14 games all time against SEC opponents with a 1-13 record. Their one win, interestingly enough, came against Alabama, a 19-16 win in 2003.
