Mississippi State football returns to Starkville on Saturday, October 19, against the #14 Texas A&M Aggies. With the Bulldogs off to a disappointing1-5 start to the season, winless in conference play, it'd be understandable to expect a smaller crowd at Davis Wade Stadium for the matchup, even with it being State's first home game in a month.

But there's still some life amongst the MSU fanbase and even growing support after the Bulldogs acquitted themselves well in their last game, a 41-31 defeat on the road against #5 Georgia. Despite a lengthy losing streak, State has shown fight and is putting a product worth watching on the field, a much-needed sight for a rebuilding program.

And now, there's another good reason why State fans could show out in Starkville this weekend.

2014 Mississippi State football team to be honored at Davis Wade Stadium on Saturday

On Sunday, Mississippi State athletic director Zac Selmon announced that the legendary 2014 Bulldog football team will be honored this coming Saturday at Davis Wade Stadium during State's game with Texas A&M for the 10-year anniversary of that historic season.

The 2014 Mississippi State team is one of greatest teams in program history. They are one of just three teams to win 10 games in a season at State, being the most recent to do so. They reached a #1 national rank, the first State team to ever accomplish that feat, and were the first ever #1 team in the CFB Playoff Rankings.

Could Dak Prescott be in attendance in Starkville for the game?

I'm sure the question on everyone's minds is whether or not former MSU QB and current Dallas Cowboys superstar Dak Prescott will be in attendance for Saturday's festivities. Prescott is the greatest and most beloved Bulldog of all time, and he of course was the leader of the 2014 team.

Mississippi State made sure to at least give their legend the opportunity to attend. The Dallas Cowboys will be on their bye next weekend, meaning it will be possible for Dak to be in Starkville. At this time, it's unknown whether or not he will be there, but seeing as how Dak has made several return trips to Starkville over the years, I think there's a good chance he'll be standing alongside his former teammates in Davis Wade.
