1. "The Pick and the Kick" - Mississippi State wins the 1999 Egg Bowl 23-20

There was no question which Thanksgiving moment had to be #1 on the list. The 1999 Egg Bowl is widely regarded as the greatest game ever played in the rivalry. There was an improbable comeback and an unbelievable finish to secure a huge season for the Bulldogs.

State trailed the Rebels 20-6 in the fourth quarter, but the Bulldogs were up for a comeback. With 27 seconds left, QB Wayne Madkin would find TE CJ Sirmones wide open for a tying TD. On the ensuing Ole Miss possession, Rebels' QB Romaro Miller would attempt a pass down the sideline, trying to get his team in range for a winning field goal.

That pass would be deflected off the foot of CB Robert Bean into the arms of safety Eugene Clinton for an interception. Clinton would run the ball back into Rebel territory with just eight seconds left. MSU kicker Scott Westerfield would come out and hit the game-winning field goal.

It was State's sixth win over Ole Miss in nine games, their best stretch in the rivalry since the 1940s. State would go on to the Peach Bowl, where they would defeat Clemson to win 10 games in a season for just the second time in program history.

I hope you all have enjoyed this trip down memory lane. Hopefully the Bulldogs give us another legendary game when they take the field on Black Friday. Happy Thanksgiving!
