Memphis presents Mississippi State basketball with major resume building opportunity
This is a chance for a signature win for Mississippi State. Memphis sits at #34 in the NET, and they've got some of the best wins of any team in the country, having beaten UConn, Michigan State, Clemson, and Missouri. The Tigers have a strong offense with four players in double-figures, led by PJ Haggerty with 22.4 PPG. And while they don't take many threes, they're one of the nation's best beyond the arc, making 41.9% of those attempts. They're fanstatic at getting to the free throw line as well. Rebounding and turnovers have been issues for the Tigers, however, and while it's hard to fully gauge them given their schedule, their defense has been gettable at times.
Mississippi State basketball vs Memphis Tigers score prediction
This should be a fantastic basketball game. Two good teams playing in what we expect to be a great environment. Memphis is clearly capable of playing with the best, but we've seen how good the Bulldogs can be when they're on. For as good as the Tigers are, there are two key areas where State looks to have an advantage - rebounding and turnovers. The Bulldogs will capitalize on having the edge in those departments to pull off another signature win.
