Mississippi State women's basketball entered the NCAA Tournament ready to make noise. The 9-seed Bulldogs grabbed eyeballs on Saturday with a dominant 59-46 win over 8-seed Cal in the first round out in Los Angeles. After the win, Bulldogs' guard Jerkaila Jordan let the world know what they can expect out of her team.

Mississippi State's Jerkaila Jordan tells the nation what they need to know about the Bulldogs

ESPN sideline reporter Holly Rowe interviewed Jerkaila Jordan after Mississippi State took down Cal, asking Jordan what people who haven't watched Mississippi State this year need to know about them. Here's what Jordan had to say...

"They need to know we some dogs, man! SEC ball. We're tough, we're aggressive, why not us? We're gonna bring it home!"

That "tough" and "aggressive" mentality was on full display in Mississippi State's win over Cal. State didn't have a good offensive day on Saturday, but they more than made up for that with a relentless effort on the defensive end.

The Bulldogs held a normally potent Cal offense to just 25% shooting and 3-21 from three. They totaled 24 turnovers, 15 steals, and six blocks. On the offensive end, they were the more physical team as well, attacking inside on the way to 32 points in the paint.

Jerkaila Jordan specifically embodied that mentality with her play on Saturday. Jordan didn't have the biggest scoring day, putting 10 on the board for the Bulldogs, but she played outstanding defense, recording two blocks and a team-leading four steals. And on two of her made field goals, she was fouled and converted the And-1.

After the first And-1, Jordan was given a technical foul for her "we gon' eat" celebration, as the officials thought it was directed at a Cal player. Jordan clarified that her celebration was for the camera, but either way, it was a weak call by the refs. Let the players have some fun!

Jerkaila Jordan and the Bulldogs certainly deserve to celebrate after their first round win, and they're ready to bring their "dog" mentality to the second round. State will take on 1-seed USC on Monday for what will be their toughest test of the season. But this team has made it clear they'll be up for the challenge.
