Mississippi State football takes on the Ole Miss Rebels in the Egg Bowl on Black Friday. The SEC released the initial availability report for the game Tuesday night, and a pair of key Bulldogs were listed.

Mississippi State safety Isaac Smith QUESTIONABLE for the Egg Bowl

At least initially, only one Mississippi State player's status is in true question for Black Friday's rivalry showdown. Starting safety Isaac Smith is listed as QUESTIONABLE on Tuesday night's availability report. The Bulldog did not play in Mississippi State's last game against Missouri after suffering an injury in the prior week against Georgia. It was the second game Smith missed due to injury this season, having also not played against Texas A&M.

Smith has recorded 51 tackles, one sack, one interception, and three passes broken up in nine games this season. He's a key piece for the Bulldog defense, and he's certainly someone they want to have on the field in the Egg Bowl.

Mississippi State running back Davon Booth to miss 1st Half against Ole Miss

The availability report did bring one major surprise for Mississippi State. Running back Davon Booth is listed as OUT for the first half of the game. As reported by the Clarion Ledger's Sam Sklar, Booth is officially missing the first half of the Egg Bowl due to a disciplinary matter.

Booth has run for 547 yards and seven TDs this season. He's also caught 14 passes for 158 yards and two scores. Not having him in the first half against a vulnerable Rebel rushing defense is a tough blow, but leading rusher Fluff Bothwell will still be available.

Beyond Isaac Smith and Davon Booth, the only other Bulldogs to show up on the availability report for the Egg Bowl are those we've known to be out for the season for several weeks now. For Ole Miss, reserve LB Raymond Collins will miss a second-straight game. Starting CB Antonio Kite is questionable after playing against Florida but missing the prior two games. Reserve WR Caleb Cunningham is also questionable.
