Georgia State opened year with home win vs Ball State

Both teams in this matchup got wins to open up the 2024-2025 season. Georgia State defeated Ball State 71-66 in Atlanta on Monday night. After a slow start offensively, the Panthers found their groove in the second-half. All three of their bigs posted double-doubles. Center Cesare Edwards went for 17 points and 11 rebounds, forward Zarique Nutter had 16 points and 12 rebounds, and forward Nick McMullen had 10 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Toneari Lane added 14 points. Georgia State had a poor shooting night from three (2-11) but had plenty of success in the paint and played strong defense.

Mississippi State basketball vs Georgia State score prediction

This will be the first test for the Bulldog frontcourt, as that's the strength of this Panthers squad. KeShawn Murphy and Cam Matthews will need big games, and State as a whole must rebound better than they did in their season-opener. I think they will, and I expect the MSU backcourt to have a decent edge here and still be effective shooting.
