Injury report for Mississippi State vs Texas A&M
The Mississippi State Bulldogs look to be without a pair of key players when they take the field Saturday night against the Texas A&M Aggies. Starting right tackle Albert Reese IV is officially listed as "out" according to Friday night's SEC Availability Report. The veteran lineman was injured in the second half of the Bulldogs home loss to Tennessee last Saturday. On the defensive side of the ball, starting safety/linebacker Isaac Smith, the team's leading tackler, is considered "doubtful" to play against Texas A&M after leaving last week's game with injury. Those are significant blows to Mississippi State as big underdogs on the road.
For Texas A&M, a trio of contributors are considered "questionable" going into Saturday. Two key Aggie defenders, starting linebacker Scooby Williams and starting safety Bryce Anderson, are each hoping to return to action after missing last week's game against Auburn. Backup guard Blake Ivy also goes into the game with the Bulldogs with his status in question.
Mississippi State Bulldogs vs Texas A&M Aggies score prediction
Mississippi State's defense is much improved, but they showed against Tennessee that they're still very much vulnerable to allowing big plays. And a Texas A&M offense that's loaded with skill talent is ripe for taking advantage, especially if Isaac Smith is out. On the flipside, while the Bulldogs should score some against a hit-or-miss Aggie defense, they're going to have a very hard time protecting QB Blake Shapen against one of the nation's best pass rushes with Albert Reese IV out.
Texas A&M wins 38-24
