With the 2026 Transfer Portal window having closed and most of the Portal action in the rearview mirror, we now know which members of the 2025 Mississippi State football team have decided to move on from the program. Which Bulldogs have transferred-out, and where are they headed?

Mississippi State football's outgoing transfers

In all, 39 Bulldogs hit the Transfer Portal following the 2025 season. Of those 39, 14 have landed at power conference programs. All but six players have presently found a new landing spot.

Quarterback

Luke Kromenhoek - USF

Luke Kromenhoek gave the Bulldogs needed depth in 2025, but Kamario Taylor's immediate impact ended Kromenhoek's chances of contributing. In three games he completed 5-9 passes for 73 yards, adding 25 rushing yards and a score.

Running Back

Seth Davis - Tulsa
Johnnie Daniels - Tulane

Seth Davis showed great promise as a freshman in 2023, but an injury held him out of the entire 2024 season. He saw the field again this season and scored a TD against Alcorn State, but he was still not fully up to speed. Johnnie Daniels ran for 540 yards and four TDs in 2024 but took a redshirt after seeing limited carries in a loaded room early this season.

Wide Receiver

Jordan Mosley - Colorado State
Ricky Johnson - Utah
Jaron Glover - USF
Markus Allen - MTSU
Cam Thompson - Northern Illinois
Davian Jackson - Texas State
Ferzell Shepard - Uncommitted

Jordan Mosely became a starter in 2024 and had a solid season (23 catches, 405 yards, 3 TDs). His role decreased dramatically this season, however. Ricky Johnson received plenty of preseason hype but rarely saw the field. In all, this group combined for 12 catches, 192 yards, and one score in 2025.

Tight End

Cam Ball - West Virginia
Max Reese - North Texas
Emeka Iloh - Uncommitted

Ball and Reese played regularly but were non-factors. JUCO-product Iloh did not see the field.

Offensive Line

Jayvin James (T) - Alabama
Zach Owens (G) - Missouri
Jimothy Lewis (T) - Cal
Luke Work (G/T) - Missouri
Koby Keenum (G/C) - Memphis
Brennan Smith (C) - Uncommitted
Jaekwon Bouldin (T) - Jackson State
Alex Lopez (T) - WKU

James, Owens, Lewis, and Work were all key pieces along the line with plenty of starts and reps amongst them. Their productivity in those roles was inconsistent at best and poor at worst, but their experience counts for enough that each has since landed at another P4 program.

Defensive Line

Kedrick Bingley-Jones (DT) - Alabama
Kai McClendon (DT) - Washington
Ashun Shepphard (DT) - Cal
Joseph Head (EDGE) - Memphis
Corey Clark (DT) - FAU
Terrance Hibbler (DT) - Jackson State

Bingley-Jones started all 17 games he played at State with 40 tackles and 2.5 TFL. While other interior DL were more productive, clearly coaches valued his experience. McClendon was impressive as a true freshman in 2024 but missed all of 2025 with injury.

Linebacker

Montrell Champman - Old Dominion

Champman, a JUCO-product, was a five-game redshirt for State. He recorded one tackle.

Cornerback

Jayven Williams - BYU
Dwight Lewis III - Uncommitted
Elijah Cannon - Kansas
DK McGruder - Uncommitted

Williams and Lewis III were a part of the rotation at corner, combining for 28 tackles and a pick. Cannon had a pick-six in his first collegiate game in 2024 but otherwise saw limited playing time.

Safety

Stonka Burnside - Memphis
Tony Mitchell - Ole Miss
Tyler Woodard - Coastal Carolina
Cyrus Reyes - Kentucky
Lo'Kavion Jackson - Uncommitted

Starkville-native Stonka Burnside began his career at WR but made the move to safety for 2025 after flashing on special teams defense. He took a redshirt this season to develop, but he's back at WR at Memphis. Mitchell played well backing-up Isaac Smith at middle safety.

Special Teams

Nathan Tiyce (P) - Penn State
Marlon Hauck (K) - Tulsa

Tiyce split time with Ethan Pulliam, punting 12 times for a 39-yard average. Hauck backed-up Kylie Ferrie, going 2/2 on extra-points and kicking-off 27 times.
