The spring transfer portal window for the 2025 season has opened and closed. Mississippi State football has used that window to add much-needed talent to the roster, but what about players on their way out of Starkville? Here are the players to enter the transfer portal this spring...

Mississippi State's 2025 spring transfer portal entrants

In the spring transfer portal window, Mississippi State has seen 10 players leave the roster.

Quarterback Jake Weir

A walk-on under Mike Leach, Jake Weir saw no action in four years at Mississippi State.

Tight End Jacorey Whitted

Jacorey Whitted was a 3-star TE in the 2024 class. He saw no action as a true freshman and had begun a shift to OL during the spring.

Offensive Lineman Jesse Ramil

Jesse Ramil is one of two winter transfer portal additions to reenter the portal following spring. A former starting tackle at James Madison, Ramil was expected to compete for a starting job in Starkville. But he was not signed by new OL coach Phil Loadholt, and is now on the move again.

Offensive Lineman Carson Lee

Carson Lee is the second winter transfer addition that reentered in the spring window. Lee was a starting center at Eastern Michigan and heavily factored in to position battles at both center and guard this spring. But like Ramil, he was not a Loadholt signee and is now headed elsewhere.

Offensive Lineman Malik Ellis

A 3-star OL in the 2023 class, Ellis switched to TE as a true freshman. He played in 11 games and made four starts for the Bulldogs as a TE in 2023. Last season he moved back to OL, playing in one game and taking a redshirt.

Defensive Lineman Mason Clinton

A December JUCO signee from East Mississippi, Mason Clinton's time in Starkville was short-lived. State added lots of SEC-caliber bodies to it's DL room, and it was clear he would find a better opportunity elsewhere.

Linebacker Donterry Russell

Donterry Russell impressed as a RS freshman in 2023, making five starts and recording 4.0 TFL and 1.5 sacks. Russell played in the 2024 season opener but did not see the field again for the remainder of the season.

Linebacker Josaiah Knight

Josaiah Knight was a 3-star signee in the 2024 class. He played in one game at Mississippi State last season.

Cornerback Traveon Wright

A RS freshman transfer from Memphis, Traveon Wright played in one game for Mississippi State in 2024.

Longsnapper Luke Beard

The longsnapper saw no action in two seasons in Starkville.
