We are here for another week as EA College Football 25 predicts the outcome of each Mississippi State football game. Last week, the simulation predicted that UMass would upset the Bulldogs. That obviously did not happen, and thank goodness for that. How does the video game think State's Saturday matchup with the Volunteers will go?

Tennessee did prevail in a surprisingly low-scoring game 13-10. Mississippi State struck first with a Kyle Ferrie field goal, and the Bulldogs led 3-0 at the end of the first quarter. In the second quarter, Micahel Van Buren threw his only touchdown pass to Jordan Mosley which extended their lead. Tennessee responded with a touchdown of their own when Dylan Sampson scored his only touchdown of the game. The Volunteers also made a field goal to tie the game right before the half. The third quarter ended tied 10-10 as both offenses sputtered. Tennessee managed to make one more field goal in the fourth quarter, and they escaped with the win.

Van Buren finished the game 8/13 for 157 yards and one touchdown. Nico Iamaleava struggled to find his footing as he was 12/21 for only 106 yards. Dylan Sampson ended up being the difference, as he rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown on 18 carries. Meanwhile, State struggled rushing the football, as Van Buren, Devon Booth, Seth Davis and Kevin Coleman combined for 34 rushing yards the entire game. Jordan Mosley was the only State receiver who found success as he had 114 yards and one touchdown on only three receptions.

Despite holding the Tennessee offense to just 13 points, the defense struggled again to create negative plays the simulation. The Bulldogs failed to get to the quarterback once, and there were only three tackles for a loss. Deonte Anderson led the way with nine total tackles and one tackle for a loss. Branden Jennings recorded eight total tackles, and Stone Blanton had five total tackles. The defense also failed to force a turnover which is another reason why they failed to win here in the simulation.
