The NFL season is here, and the Philadelphia Eagles and Dallas Cowboys are kicking off the season. Former Mississippi State quarterback Dak Prescott is back from his injury last season, and he was welcomed in an interesting way by Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter.
During an injury timeout right after the opening kickoff, so before there was even a snap in the ball game, Carter walked up to Prescott, had some words with him, and then literally spit on him. The kicker here is that there was a ref right next to them making sure things weren't going to get out of hand with the confrontation, and he was very quick to throw the flag.
The great thing, however, is that Prescott stayed completely composed and didn't even react to being spit on. He basically just looked at the ref, almost saying, "Did you see that?" Prescott just took it, didn't retaliate, and allowed the refs to handle it.

The refs certainly handled it by disqualifying Carter from the game, again before a snap was even played. This has to be one of the quickest ejections in an NFL game, either ever or in a long time.
Prescott certainly helped himself by not reacting because he could have easily been rejected as well if he had either thrown a punch or pushed Carter, leaving the Cowboys without their starting quarterback. Maybe Prescott learned some of that poise and composure from his days as a Mississippi State Bulldog.
So far in the first half, Prescott is 7-for-11 for 98 yards. He has yet to throw a touchdown, but that is because the run game has been working for the Cowboys. Prescott, however, is looking good coming off the injury from last season, and hopefully can pull off a win against the defending Super Bowl Champions on their banner night.
