Mississippi State football (2-9, 0-7 SEC) travels north to Oxford to take on the #14 Ole Miss Rebels (8-3, 4-3 SEC) in the 121st Egg Bowl. The Egg Bowl is leaving its typical Thanksgiving night slot for the afternoon of Black Friday. Here's how you can watch plus all the notes you need to know before these rivals face off.

Game time and TV channel for the 2024 Egg Bowl

The 2024 Egg Bowl is set to kickoff at 2:30 PM CT on Black Friday at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in Oxford. This year's Battle for the Golden Egg will air on national television, being broadcast on ABC. This is the first time the Egg Bowl will be played on a major network since 2014. You can also stream the game on ESPN+. Bob Wischusen and Louis Riddick will be on the call for the broadcast.

The Bulldogs are massive underdogs going to Oxford. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Rebels are a 26-point favorite in the Egg Bowl as of Tuesday night. The over/under for the game is set at 61.5.

Injury report for Mississippi State and Ole Miss

For Mississippi State, there are no notable injuries to report, though we are waiting to hear the official status of WR Mario Craver after he was suspended last week. It seems things are trending towards him being able to play.

For Ole Miss, WR Tre Harris is questionable after going down with injury against Florida. Safety Yam Banks and RB Henry Parrish, Jr. are out, while DE Princely Umanmielen, TE Dae'Quan Wright, WR Jordan Watkins, and OL Reece McIntyre are all probable.

This will likely be the coldest Egg Bowl in several years. Afternoon temperatures in Oxford aren't expected to get out of the 40s despite mostly sunny skies. Temperatures will dip down into the 30s as the sun sets.

ESPN's analytics are further evidence of how lopsided this game is anticipated to be. FPI gives Mississippi State just a 5.2% chance of upsetting the Rebels.

While you'd like to never rule anything out in a rivalry as hectic as the Egg Bowl, when one team is vastly superior in this series, that team tends to win with ease. Ole Miss is a far better team in every way. Their dominant Front Seven will create havoc throughout, and the Rebel offense will have its way against a bad Bulldog defense.
