3 observations from Mississippi State basketball’s blowout win vs. Kennesaw State

A perfectly balanced supporting cast showed up for MSU on Monday
While Jessika Carter is understandably going to receive plenty of attention for the way that she dominates on the court, she wasn’t the only Mississippi State Baketball player having a remarkable game against the Kennesaw State Owls on Monday.
JerKaila Jordan proved to be an ideal second scoring option with 19 points of her own, providing the Mississippi State Bulldogs with a true second threat on the court for 30 minutes. That meant that Kennesaw State couldn’t just keep an eye on what Carter was accomplishing, they also had to worry about Jordan.
Meanwhile, Erynn Barnum was also solid and highly efficient. She only managed to get 19 minutes of playing time, but Barnum wasn’t stopped by anyone on Kennesaw State’s roster as she scored 11 points and grabbed a half dozen rebounds.
In the 20 minutes that Debreasha Powe was on the court, she provided plenty of spacing by shooting 40 percent from behind the three point line and scoring six total points.
Carter is going to get most of the attention from opposing defenses, but the Bulldogs were plenty deep on Monday night. Nine Bulldogs got the chance to score against Kennesaw State. That’s not bad.
