Jeff Lebby is continuing to build his Mississippi State football coaching staff and it looks like he’s added Matt Holecek to his coaching staff.
As the Jeff Lebby era of Mississippi State football continues to be built, the new head coach of the MSU Bulldogs is building his coaching staff and recruiting, attempting to build the program in a theoretically more functional manner.
And that means numerous staff changes, including the additions of new faces that Mississippi State football fans aren’t currently familiar with. But that’s what the Internet is here for, right? So that we can be come familiar with new football coaches on our favorite teams.
So, let’s start to meet Matt Holecek, another new member of the 2024 Mississippi State football coaching staff under new head coach Jeff Lebby.
Mississippi State football: Jeff Lebby reportedly brings Matt Holecek
It’s not a big deal if you’re not currently familiar with Matt Holecek. He’s a young coach who hasn’t spent a ton of time in roles that would catch the attention of many MSU football fans.
So, who is Matt Holecek?
Well, he’s someone that Jeff Lebby seems to be pretty familiar with, even if MSU fans aren’t. Lebby and Holecek have worked together for a few years now as they’ve been on staff together with the Oklahoma Sooners for two years now. Prior to that, Holecek was a member of the Ole Miss Rebels for a couple seasons.
So, it looks like Lebby is bringing Holecek along to another destination once again.
According to his profile on X (his Twitter profile?), Holecek will be working with Mississippi State quarterbacks, which isn’t a huge shocker. He’s been an offensive analyst under Lebby’s guidance and now he’s moving up in the world.
Holecek is familiar with Lebby’s veer-and-shoot offense and that familiarity will be important for the Bulldogs as they adjust to this new system.
So far, it looks like Lebby is building a unified staff that is built around his system.
